When Rebbie Jackson's mother Katherine became a Jehovah's Witness in , Jackson followed suit and become a devoted member of the religion. She began performing in her family's Las Vegas shows and television variety show. She then started a career outside of the Jackson family as a background singer for famous acts like Lou Rawls and Chaka Khan.

Ruby jackson biography

She and her other sisters would perform during the breaks of 'The Jackson 5' shows. After the success of 'The Jackson 5', Rebbie realized she should pursue her own music career. The album featured contributions from her family, including her brother Michael Jackson. Although it did not generate much buzz, two songs from the album made it onto the charts.

Rebbie's last music project before a decade-long hiatus was the song ' Jackson Street' on 'The Jacksons' album of the same name.
